10:00-11:15 PM - Dancy Fans: Intuitive Fan Dance • Qween Quan
Learn to move feathers fiercely with New Orleans based creator and burlesque performer, Qween Quan. This workshop is dedicated to the eager beginners or the seasoned performers with stiff wrists who want to level up their movement with fans. We will go over handling, intuition on stage, shapes and flow in an open, judgment-free space. Bring your own fans, fan-less attendance is also welcome.
*Most of not all of the techniques taught also translate to vegan, non-ostrich and non-feather fans.
11:30-12:45 PM - Rhythm n Waist • Nami Flare
This class is all about how to tease the crowd with your waistline, body isolations and musicality. Throughout the class participants will experience a mix of pelvic isolations, choreography, and musical exercises. Come learn and go on a wild journey with Ms. Flare! All levels/ dress ready to move and wear fringe for extra pizazz
1:00-2:15 PM - Taking Up Space • Elyse Elaine
Get Ready to Liberate Yourself Through Dance! This class is a crash course in stage presence!
Have you ever wanted to break out of your shell as a performer? To light up a stage and capture the audience's attention? Are you wanting to fine tune your moves to be more polished onstage? Do you want to just get comfortable in your skin? Do you want to challenge your body to move in a new way? Then this is the class for you!
Elyse Elaine creates a safe space for exploration and experimentation while guiding you throw this free flow movement class. The class will begin with a meet and greet, goal setting, and stretch/warm up. From there, for the bulk of the class, we will work on specific techniques with a breakdown of steps and movements followed by "across the floor" choreography inspiring you to take the basic steps and make them your own.
In addition, students will learn about audience engagement through partner exercises where you will be encouraged to give feedback to one another. Class will end with a group dance, cool down/stretch, and networking and/or Q&A.
2:30-3:45 PM - Unveiling the Narrative: Storytelling in Burlesque • Po'Chop
In Unveil the Narrative, discover the art of weaving powerful stories into your burlesque performances. This class focuses on using sensuality, humor, and character work to create captivating narratives that engage your audience from the first strut to the final reveal. You'll learn how to blend movement, expression, and costume dynamics to embody characters, tell compelling stories, and elevate your acts beyond the tease. Whether you're new to burlesque or a seasoned performer, this class will guide you in transforming your performance into a full narrative experience that’s as emotionally engaging as it is visually stunning. Participants should wear comfortable clothes to wear and will need tools to take notes.
